New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream – Current Priority Processing

Under the NB Provincial Nominee Program, the Skilled Worker Stream, is aimed to attract eligible foreign nationals who have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the New Brunswick labour market. Those interested must meet the program’s eligibility requirements, have a genuine job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer, and intend to live and work in New Brunswick long term.

Due to an increase in applications under this stream, Opportunities New Brunswick (ONB) has implemented specific measures to help manage the inventory of incoming applications. It will continue to process applications at its discretion while also keeping it mind the goals of the NBPNP and needs of NB employers.

Effective immediately and through to the end of 2022, application processing priority will be given to the following categories of applications:

In addition to the above listed NOCs, NB also has priority sectors including:

  • Health Care
  • Education
  • Skilled Trades
  • Forestry
  • Information Technology

Under the NB Skilled Worker Stream, you may be awarded 10 points if your planned occupation falls in with the above-mentioned occupations and your prospective (or current) employer can demonstrate labour shortages. You still must meet the minimum requirements (60/100 points) to quality under the program which assesses your age, work experience, language, education, and adaptability.
